Bulk publishing posts from Google Sheets

Use bulk publish to create / edit multiple posts in one go. You could also use this feature if you wish to experiment with programmatic SEO.

You can use Google Sheets to publish posts to Typeflo in bulk. This is done by entering the Google Docs / Typeflo editor draft post URLs in Google Sheets.

Once your sheet is filled with data, you will be able to publish tens or even hundreds of posts to your blog in minutes.

Lets get started

Step 1: Click on "Posts"

Step 2: Click on "Bulk Publish"

Step 3: Clicking on "View Sample" will open a sample sheet with placeholders for accurate importing

Google Sheets fields explaination

Now we will go through all the fields (placeholders) in the Google Sheets one by one to understand how to fill content in them accurately.

Title

Enter the title for your post or leave blank if a title / H1 tag is present in your Google Doc / Draft Typeflo editor post.

Category URL

Paste the category(s) for your post seperated by a comma. You can select 1 or multiple categories from Typeflo Dashboard > Category


Leave blank if already added in the Typeflo editor.

Author URL

Paste the author URL for your post. You can find the author URL on the Typeflo dashboard > Authors


Leave blank if already added in the Typeflo editor.

Publish Date

Enter the publish date for your post in DD-MM-YYYY format.

For example if your publish date is 30th March 2024, set the date as 30-03-2024.

Leave blank if already added in the Typeflo editor.

Slug

You can enter a custom slug (permalink) for your post. Only enter the slug URL (without backslashes "/")

Leave blank if you want to use the permalink from the title / already entered in the Typeflo editor

Excerpt, Meta Title, Meta Description

Enter custom content for these fields if required. You can skip them if you want to use default values for these fields or if they are already added in the Typeflo editor.

Table of Contents (T/F)

Enter T for "True" (or) enter F for "False" if you want to conditionally enable / disable table of contents for individual posts.

Skipping this field will use the default Table of Contents setting that you have added for your website at Dashboard > Settings > Theme > Enable Table of Contents

Tag URLs

Enter tag URLs for your post seperated by comma (,)


You can find tags at Dashboard > Category > Tags (Second tab). You may also optionally create new tags here.

Type (Publish / Draft)


Publish:
Enter "Publish" if you want the post to be published directly to your website.

Draft: Enter "Draft" if you want the posts to be imported with the draft status on your website.

Step 4: Once you have mapped all fields correctly and are ready to import, Click on "Next" and paste the public Google Sheets URL in the next step.

On pasting the Google sheets URL, your bulk import process should begin (Provided all fields are mapped correctly)

Bulk import logs


You will be able to see the logs for the posts that are imported. There are 3 statuses for each post.

  1. In Progress

  2. Published

  3. Failed

Once your import is completed, you will be able to see the logs of your import as follows
